PWMU Library

Over the years, PWMU has acquired numerous books by donation. Many are biographies of past missionaries, most of which are out of print.

The library is located in the PWMU office in Box Hill North and can be accessed by members. Most books are available for loan, apart from some of the histories of PWMU, of which we only have one copy.

It is quaint to see the PWMU stickers inside the front cover stating that it used to cost 10 cents to borrow a book and there was a 50 cent fine for overdue books. Borrowing in the present era is free. If you would like to come and view the books, please ring ahead and let us know you are coming.

Cataloguing the library books has been completed. See the image below.

A very recent addition to our library is this book, ‘Misigete, John Geddie, Pioneer Missionary to the New Hebrides.’ by R.S. Miller. John’s wife, Charlotte Geddie, was the first Vice-President of PWMU State Council in 1890. Her story can be read by clicking on the picture of her book.

Two new books have been donated to our library. Gelson Engel was a missionary in Korea from 1900 for 37 years. He was a Professor of Greek, Hebrew and Church History.

Both books have been written by MD Yang from Busanjin Church in Korea. They are both written in Korean although the book on the right is ‘Manga’ style and is suitable for children.
