What we do

PWMU wants to support mission coordinators in congregations. Together we can promote events where workers have a chance to speak about their work.

PWMU events are an opportunity to hear cross-cultural workers on home assignment. Our Thanksgiving Event in August is an opportunity to widen our understanding of cross-cultural gospel work. The country rallies are wonderfully vibrant occasions where both country and city residents can gather, be encouraged and hear from our workers.

We want to pass on love for the unreached to the next generations. To facilitate this, Dayspring Magazine for primary aged children is produced three times a year and an annual Dayspring Day is currently held during the July school holidays at Geelong West PC. It is our privilege to pass on the legacy left to us by previous generations of women keen to spread the gospel in other cultures. Dayspring was the name of the supply ship to missionaries in the New Hebrides (now known as Vanuatu).

PWMU has funds to assist people going on short term mission trips, and provides bursaries for theological students preparing to minister in their home countries. At present six such South Sudanese pastor/students from refugee camps are studying in Ethiopia.

The monthly newsletter and the annual devotions booklet assist members to pray in an informed way.

PWMU has a representative on the PSCJM - Presbyterian and Scots’ Church Joint Mission - which operates in Flemington, assisting those needing practical help. (Flemington Mission).
